How long have you been the pastor here at Tapestry?
I started in September, 2005.  Prior to Tapestry, I pastored in Washington State.

How many years have you been in pastoral ministry?
Over 30 years now...wow I'm getting old!

Where did you go to school?

- I graduated from Watseka Community High School in Illinois in 1974.
- In 1978, I graduated from Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas.
- I attended Ontario Christian Seminary in Toronto, Canada.

What are your ministerial credentials?
I was ordained with the Assemblies of God in 1983.

Tell us about your family...

I have been married to the love of my life, Karen, for 31 years this year.  I have a son, Caleb, a computer dude.  My daughter, Jordan is part of our Children's Ministry and my son-in-law, David, is a police officer.  They have blessed me with three granddaughters, Emersyn, Irelyn, and Paityn. They are the most intelligent, awesome, incredible children you will ever meet, and, no, I do not spoil them.  I also have a dog, Bella, she is a boxer.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I love sports of any kind, mountain biking, military history, gardening, bird watching, collecting
knives, camping and hiking, reading, listening to music, my dogs...and last but not least: the Chicago Cubs and Bears!

If money were no object, what would be your dream getaway?

If it was with Karen, it would be Paris and Rome, and then Tuscany, and on to the Greek islands.  I would like to go to Europe and trace the route of my Dad's division during WWII: England and across the channel into France and onto Germany.

What is the most adventuresome thing you ever did?

I went mountain biking in Moab, Utah.  I rode in 100+ degree heat AND I got lost on what was supposed to be a three-hour ride that took over ten hours.  I finally reached the finish line at 2 am!

What are your favorite books beside the Bible?
Band of Brothers by Stephen Ambrose, Tale of Three Kings by Gene Edwards or any book by Andy Stanley or Erwin McManus

Do you have any heroes (besides Jesus)?
My Dad, who won the Silver and Bronze Stars in WWII and any Veteran of any war

What is your favorite TV show?

“24” – bummer, it was cancelled! But any sport will do, especially football.

Favorite movie?
Saving Private Ryan, Last of the Mohicans, Iron Man

Favorite Bands?
Collective Soul, Cold Play, Delirious, Leeland, Chris Tomlin, and U2
